Mobile Phone Policy

 

 

Picture messaging phones may not be brought into school under any circumstances. Anyone found in possession of same will have it confiscated immediately. It will not be accepted in mitigation that the phone was switched off. The phone will be returned to parents only on receipt of an undertaking that it will not be brought to school again.

 

Inconvenience experienced by owners of such phones is justified by the protection offered to all as a result of the school not being exposed to the potential dangers associated with these phones.

 

 

All other mobile phones must be switched off and out of sight at all times while on the school premises or grounds.

 

Any such phone that is switched on or on view, including phones set on silent mode, will be confiscated. It will be returned to parents only.

 

If a student brings a Mobile Phone to school, it must be switched off and out of sight at all times while the student is on the school premises or grounds. If a student is caught using a Mobile Phone or if it is turned on or on view, including phones set on silent mode, it will be confiscated along with the SIM card. It will be necessary for a parent to retrieve it. If a student’s phone is confiscated for a second or a subsequent time, it will be held by the college for one week, and must be collected by a parent or guardian. This also applies to MP3 players and Earpieces
