For me, music has been my life for many years. Devoting countless hours to
playing guitar and singing with my mates in bands and such. I've always had a
broad taste in music, ranging from Heavy Metal (which explains the hair!
- insert laugh here*) to Classical Music and Jazz.I first picked up a guitar back in first year, however I had been playing keyboard
for a few years prior to that. I have always found music as a way of escape if I
needed to get away for a while. When listening to music I feel a real connection to
life as if it has a purpose for me. It does sound corny I know, but it's true.I am currently in a band called Paracitez with my friends Martin and Ciarán Joy.
I am also in another band with my good friend and fellow lead guitarist Eoghan
Corrigan. We have just recently gotten together and we are hopefully going to get
into full swing soon enough. (if the Leaving Cert doesn't get in the way too much).
In Paracitez I played in the Battle of the Bands which was hosted by the school
back in early 2006. We didn't win but it's always such an adrenaline rush playing
gigs, knowing (and hoping) that people are hanging on your every note. Also,
with Paracitez we recorded a Demo CD back in July, comprising of 3 songs.For the future, I would love to get a record deal and play music professionally
for a living. It would be an excellent life doing something that i love ever so much
and getting paid for it. And you never know, one day you could be picking up an
album and seeing my face on the back cover....sure, one can only Dream!!!
