The official website of the Department contains information on the Irish education system, including the syllabi and marking schemes for all the subjects in the Leaving Cert and Junior Cert exams.

The National Centre for Technology in Education
An Irish Government agency established to provide advice, support and information on the use of information and communications technology (ICT) in education.

CAO
Complete and submit your Central Application Office application over the net, using the on-screen form. This is the official CAO website and is "the only source of accurate online information about CAO".

UCAS
The UK equivalent of the CAO, standing for the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service. Very useful for searching for courses. Entrance requirements in terms of the Irish Leaving Cert are given.

Technical Drawing Solutions Online
A good reference source for students and teachers of the Leaving Certificate Technical Drawing course. From each of the years featured, the student can view annotated solutions.

Junior Certificate School Programme
Teachers will find curricular materials, resources and useful teacher designed forms, while students will find competition announcements, competition results and displays of the winners' entries.

TeachNet
TeachNet Ireland funds innovative Irish teachers throughout Ireland to publish curriculum units that demonstrate the integration of ICT into classroom teaching in a meaningful and practical way.

Scoilnet
A portal for Irish education. Scoilnet is the official education portal of the Department of Education and Science (DES) in Ireland, managed by the National Centre for Technology in Education (NCTE).

Schoolsnet
A UK version of Scoilnet, now even easier to use. In 2004 Schoolsnet became part of the Hotcourses website, contributing to what is now the UK's leading online educational resource.

E-Twinning
eTwinning enables schools across Europe to link online and engage in ICT-based partnerships.

RTE Radio One Getting It Right
Notes for the Leaving Cert in pdf and podcast form.

BBC Education
Excellent BBC site with links to its own educational programmes.

National Grid for Learning

Bartleby
Voted the 2002 "Best Literary Resource" on the web, this online library is one of the Net's true gems. Read literary masterpieces by Dickens, Dostoyevsky, Twain, as well as other landmarks of nonfiction.

The ultimate search site for films, excellent selection of reviews.

Great for reviews of any film ever produced. Very comprehensive site.

The largest collection of free art lessons on the Internet with over 800 free lesson plans.
